Chrome extension: live translation of any browser tab
The Call2Me Chrome extension translates the audio of any tab — a video, a webinar, a meeting — live into 39 languages. Free daily minutes without an account, more when you link your Call2Me account.
Updated October 6, 2026
The extension captures the sound of the tab you are watching and plays it back translated, in real time, using the same engine as the live interpreter. Nothing to set up on the page you are watching — YouTube, a webinar, a meeting in the browser.
Install: Chrome Web Store · overview at call2me.app/translate.
How to use it
- Open the tab you want translated and click the extension icon.
- Pick the language you want to hear.
- Press start. The original audio is turned down and the translation plays over it.
Free minutes and limits
| Without an account | Linked to Call2Me | |
|---|---|---|
| Daily minutes | small trial allowance | 20 minutes per day |
| Per session | 15 minutes | 15 minutes |
Anonymous minutes come from a shared daily pool; when it is used up, the extension asks you to link an account. Enter your email in the extension and click the link we send — if you have no Call2Me account yet, one is created for you. Limits are adjusted over time; the extension always shows your current remaining minutes.
Privacy
- Tab audio is streamed for translation only — it is not recorded or stored, and neither is the transcript.
- Session records keep duration and technical fields for 90 days; IP addresses are stored only as salted hashes.
API
The extension talks to /v1/ext/* (config, session start/heartbeat/end,
account linking, usage). The SDKs expose these as client.ext for
completeness, but they are designed for the extension itself — to build
translation into your own product, use the interpreter
API instead.
What's next
- Live interpreter — two-way translation on calls and in the browser
- Voice sessions — embed live voice in your own app
