The two-leg rule
This is the line item that surprises people reading an invoice: a phone call uses two PSTN legs — one between the caller and the platform, one between the platform and the carrier. Telephony and outbound surcharges are therefore multiplied by two.
Outbound phone call, per minute:
base 0.10
(telephony 0.01 + outbound 0.03) × 2 0.08
------------------------------------------
0.18/min
Inbound phone call, per minute:
base 0.10
telephony 0.01 × 2 0.02
------------------------------------------
0.12/min
Browser test (no phone line involved):
base 0.10/min
Worked examples:
| Scenario | Duration | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Browser test | 2 min | ~$0.20 |
| Answered inbound call | 90 sec | ~$0.18 |
| Outbound call, recording on | 3 min | ~$0.56 |
Unanswered (ring, busy, no-answer): $0.
Chat widget rates
$0.01 per message. A message is one user input + one agent reply pair.

What changes pricing
The headline rates are stable. What moves your per-minute cost:
- Inbound vs. outbound — the outbound surcharge applies per leg, so an outbound minute costs $0.06 more than an inbound one.
- Realtime engine — speech-to-speech is noticeably faster and adds $0.25/min. The default cascade engine does not.
- Browser vs. phone — no phone line means no telephony legs at all.
For a standard inbound phone agent, expect $0.12/min all-in.
Rates are read from the platform's live pricing config, so
GET /v1/pricing is always authoritative over any number written here.
Volume discounts
For consistent volumes above ~50,000 minutes/month, contact us — we have negotiated rates with the underlying providers (Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Telnyx) that we can pass on.
